About the Author

Naramsetti Umamaheswara Rao is a distinguished Telugu writer, poet, and children's author who has made significant contributions to Telugu literature through his diverse body of work. His writings include children's literature, short stories, poems, novels, spiritual literature for senior citizens, and educational works on natural farming for farmers.

His literary journey began in 1980 while he was still a high school student. His first work, "Melerigina Manishi", was published as a serial novel in the children's magazine Balajyothi and received appreciation from readers. Since then, he has continued his literary pursuit with dedication, enriching Telugu literature with meaningful and inspiring works.

His children's story collection "Vintha Jalam" received the Sahiti Pratibha Award from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in 2014. In 2018, his novel "Anandalokam" was honored with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar, bringing national recognition to his contributions to children's literature.

Alongside his literary career, Naramsetti served with distinction as a Postal Department Supervisor. Throughout his professional life, he successfully balanced public service with literary service, demonstrating his commitment to both society and literature.

He has actively promoted Telugu language, literature, and culture by conceptualizing and organizing numerous literary events and cultural programs. His works aim to nurture creativity among children, critical thinking among youth, and moral values within society.
